Crowns and Bridges in Redmond, OR

Damaged or missing teeth can affect more than your smile. They can make eating uncomfortable, change the way your teeth come together, or make you feel less confident. At Select Dental Care, we use CEREC technology to create dental bridges and work with a local lab to make bridges to help restore the function and appearance of your smile.

We take a personalized approach to restorative dentistry, explaining your options and recommending treatment based on your tooth, bite, oral health, and individual needs.

What Are Dental Crowns and Bridges?

Dental Crown — A dental crown is a custom-made restoration that covers a damaged or weakened tooth. It can help restore the tooth’s shape, strength, function, and appearance when a filling is no longer enough.

Dental Bridge — A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth. It uses supporting teeth or dental implants to hold the replacement tooth in place, helping restore your ability to chew and speak comfortably.

Crowns and bridges can be made from a variety of materials. We’ll discuss the most appropriate option for you based on the tooth's location, your oral health, and your treatment goals.

Benefits of Crowns, Bridges, and CEREC Restorations

Crowns and bridges can restore damaged teeth, replace missing teeth and help you get back to comfortable everyday function. At Select Dental Care, we also offer CEREC technology for eligible restorations, allowing certain crowns to be designed and placed in a single visit.
Restore Strength and Function
A crown protects and restores a damaged or weakened tooth, while a bridge replaces one or more missing teeth. Both can help you chew and speak comfortably while supporting your smile's function.
Complete Treatments in One Visit
When CEREC is appropriate, our dental team can design, fabricate, and place your dental crown in a single appointment. This can mean fewer visits and less time waiting in the dental chair.
Enjoy a Natural-Looking Result
CEREC uses advanced technology to create a restoration designed around your tooth and bite. The result can provide a comfortable fit and natural appearance while eliminating the need for traditional impression materials.

Frequently Asked Questions

The timeline for a crown or bridge depends on the type of restoration you need and your individual oral health. We explain the process before treatment and let you know what to expect at each stage.

How Long Does a Crown Take?

CEREC same-day crowns in Redmond can streamline the dental crown process. We use digital scanning and CEREC technology to design and create the restoration in our office, allowing us to complete many crowns in a single visit.

How Long Does a Bridge Take?

A dental bridge generally requires preparation of the supporting teeth, digital scans or impressions, and time to create the custom bridge made by a trusted local lab according to our instructions. We may place a temporary restoration while your final bridge is being made, followed by an appointment to check the fit and secure it in place.

Your timeline may vary depending on the condition of your teeth and whether you need additional treatment first.

CEREC Same-Day Crowns

For eligible patients, we offer CEREC same-day restorations in Redmond, which use digital technology to design and create certain crowns in our dental office. Instead of taking a traditional physical impression and sending the restoration to an outside laboratory, we can use a digital scan to create a precise 3-D model of your tooth.

CEREC technology then allows us to design and mill your restoration right here in the practice. When appropriate, this allows you to have your crown designed, fabricated, and placed in a single appointment.

What to Expect During Treatment

Before treatment begins, we examine your tooth and discuss your options. We may use digital imaging or scanning to evaluate the tooth and plan your restoration.

For a traditional crown or bridge, we prepare the tooth or supporting teeth and take the necessary impressions. A temporary restoration may be placed while your final restoration is being made.

With CEREC, we use a digital scanner to capture detailed images of your teeth. We then design your restoration using computer-aided technology and create it in our dental office.

Once we confirm the fit, appearance, and bite, we bond the restoration into place. We explain each step along the way so you know what to expect.

CEREC Same-Day Restorations

CEREC same-day restoration technology uses advanced CAD/CAM technology to digitally design and create custom dental restorations with precision. This technology allows eligible patients to complete certain restorations in a single appointment rather than multiple visits. You can spend less time waiting for your restoration and more time enjoying your refreshed, functional smile.

What to Expect After Your Crown or Bridge

It’s normal for your tooth or surrounding tissues to feel slightly sensitive after treatment. This usually settles as your mouth adjusts to the restoration. Your crown or bridge should feel comfortable and function naturally once you get used to it. We’ll also give you guidance on brushing, flossing, and caring for the area.

Good oral hygiene and regular dental visits remain important. While a crown or bridge replaces or protects part of your tooth, it does not make the surrounding teeth or gums immune to decay or gum disease.

Restore Your Smile with Confidence

Whether you need to strengthen a damaged tooth, replace a missing tooth, or explore the convenience of a CEREC same-day crown, our team is here to help. We’ll explain your options clearly and create a treatment plan around your needs.

Testimonial

"Extremely pleased with both dentists, the hygienists, and all of the other staff."

Excellent patient care and customer service. I've been a patient for a year and am extremely pleased with both dentists, the hygienists, and all of the other staff. I've had two crowns replaced as well as three cleanings and all of the care was first rate.
