What Happens During an Extraction?
First, we take the time to examine your tooth and explain exactly what we recommend. We may use x-rays or other imaging to understand the tooth’s position and surrounding structures.
We use local anesthesia to numb the area and help keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. Once you’re numb, we carefully remove the tooth and make sure you understand your aftercare instructions before you leave.
We’re happy to answer questions along the way. You never have to feel like you’re sitting in the chair wondering what happens next.
What Can I Expect After an Extraction?
Some tenderness, swelling, or mild discomfort can occur as your mouth begins to heal. We’ll give you clear instructions for caring for the extraction site, including what to eat, how to keep the area clean, and what activities to avoid while you recover.
If something doesn’t feel right or you have questions after your appointment, give us a call. We want you to feel supported throughout your recovery, not just while you’re in the dental chair.
